"Bushcraft with Biscuit"
in Taymount Wood on Monday 6th July 2026

A fun, FREE event for children with Wee Adventures

Come and learn some exciting Bushcraft skills and enjoy other forest fun activities including shelter building, slack lines and other vital skills for survival in our woods!  We’ll inspire children’s imaginations, engage the senses and create a sense of wonder in the natural world. By working on a ‘leave no trace’ basis Biscuit nurtures the idea of caring for the environment by thinking green in all our activities.

Places available on a first come first serve basis, so book yours soon. Families bridging the age groups below can pick the session which works best for them.

Tips from Wee Adventures:

Even though it’s July, depending on the weather, be prepared for your children to get muddy and wet and dress accordingly! Hooded waterproof jacket and trousers, gloves, warm hats or sunhats, trainers, walking boots or wellies are essential.

Bring a rucksack or bag for spare layers, water, sunscreen, personal medication etc.

Tips from WSWG:

A picnic will be provided for all but please bring your own snacks and drinks if preferred.

Please email WSWG or Sarah if you have any other questions about the event.

Check out these previous Wee Adventures Events. The children love them!

Early Morning Birdsong Walk in Taymount Wood

Sunday 10th May 2026 at 7.30am

We are really excited to have Perthshire Society of Natural Science organising this event at Taymount Wood as part of their Nature Summer Outings Programme and we’d love to see you at this free event. Open to All.

No experience needed

Just a love of nature and a curiosity about the birdlife that lives in our woods. No special equipment required but binoculars might be useful if you have them. A mobile phone, camera or notebook may come in handy if you want to record what we hear or see. Fairly easy walking: we are likely to be out for about 2.5 to 3 hours.

Dress for the weather on the day and wear suitable footwear. It may be May and early morning, but think waterproofs, layers, rain hats or sun hats, and walking boots or wellies. Bring your own snacks and something to drink too.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, please.

Meet at Taymount Wood car park
